CDCDC has space available now for children ages 3 to 5 years old. If you are interested in joining our NAEYC accredited program, you can contact us to ask questions or schedule a tour.
| 7:15–8:45 | Arrival: Children engage in child-initiated activities within the various areas in the classroom. Children may also eat snacks brought from home until 8:30 a.m. |
| 8:45–9:15 | Snack time: Snack is served family style, with teachers at the tables to assist when needed. |
| 9:15–9:25 | Morning Meeting: The Dancing Bears begin the day with Morning Meeting — a relaxed time when the children greet each other and their teachers; share "Headline News"; give compliments; discuss problems, classroom plans, and activities; talk about the weather; go over the schedule for the day; discuss the question of the day; engage in practical/hands on math problems; and/or do calendar math (days of the week, counting, comparing, etc.). Children learn the basics of democracy during this time of day (e.g., voting, expressing opinions, etc.). |
| 9:25–10:25 | Exploration time: Children engage in self-initiated learning activities in a teacher supervised environment and with prepared activities. Children are welcome to participate in a small group activity or explore in the different areas of the classroom. |
| Individual teaching: Children may choose to work with teachers individually. Children may work on handwriting, letters, numbers, etc. |

| 10:25–11:25 | Outdoor play (weather permitting): Child-directed play under teacher supervision. Children may also use group walks to explore the community. In the event of bad weather, children may engage in gross motor activities in the playroom. This is a time for physical development. |
| Power Tots: Children engage in gymnastics as a way to strengthen their gross motor skills. Children learn basic gymnastics skills such as rolls, cartwheels, roundoffs, and walkovers. Children also receive instruction on a wide variety of equipment such as parallel bars, barrel mat, crescent mat, vaulting blocks, spring board, wedge mat, and balance beams. |

| Music and movement: Children engage in developmentally appropriate music and movement activities. CDCDC contracts with three different instructors to offer a variety of music and movement experiences. |

| 11:25–12:00 | Circle time: Children engage in large group activities including songs, fingerplays, music and movement activities, and reading books. Teachers will often introduce new concepts to the children during circle time. Children will also discuss the pillar of the month from the Character Counts! curriculum. This is a time for social, cognitive, and language development. |
| 12:00–1:00 | Lunch: Lunch is served family style, with teachers at the tables to assist when needed. |
| 1:00–2:45 | Nap time: Quiet time activities are provided for early risers. |
| 2:45–3:15 | Group activities: Teacher-directed language arts activity, and daily reflection. |
| 3:15–3:45 | Snack time: Snack is served family style, with teachers at the tables to assist when needed. |
| 3:45–4:00 | Self-help skills: Brushing teeth and dressing for outdoor play. |

| 5:30–5:45 | Reflection on the day: Children engage in a reflection on their learning for the day. The teachers may use a variety of techniques to guide this discussion. |
